Destiny’s Child Release Brand New ‘Say My Name’ Video to mark 20th anniversary of ‘The Writing’s On The Wall’

Destiny’s Child’s second album ‘The Writing’s On The Wall’ was released exactly 20 years ago this Saturday (27 July 2019).

The mark the occasion Sony Music has released a brand new TWOTW 20 Edition of the music video.

Destiny’s Child formed in Houston, Texas in 1997. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1998 and a year later ‘The Writing’s On The Wall’ came out. The album was produced by by Missy Elliott, Kevin “She’kspere” Briggs, Rodney Jerkins, Eric Nealante Phillips and Beyoncé and included guest appearances from rapper Missy Elliott who was a fifth child on ‘Confessions’.

‘The Writing’s On The Wall’ earned Destiny’s Child six Grammy nominations for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals (twice), Best R&B Song (twice), Record of the Year, and Song of the Year. It went on to sell over 8 million copies in the USA.

The album included the four hit songs:

Bills, Bills Bills (no 1 US, no 26 Australia)
Bug a Boo (no 33 US, no 26 Australia)
Say My Name (no 1 US, no 1 Australia)
Jumpin’ Jumpin’ (n0 3 US, no 2 Australia)
