Ed Sheeran Wants A Gig On Game Of Thrones

Ed Sheeran could be set for a role in Game of Thrones.

The singer may be best known for his mellow voice, but recently he’s caught the acting bug too. Following stints on Home and Away and Sesame Street, the 24-year-old now has his eye on the violent TV extravaganza.

‘There were talks ages ago of me being an extra, which could have been cool. But every time they shoot it’s the time I tour in the UK,’ he explained to British newspaper The Sun.

‘But I’ve got that time off this year, so I’m going to hound them.’

It’s not completely far-fetched, as Ed has made friends with the right people. He’s close to the show’s star Kit Harington, aka Jon Snow, and is also pals with Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark.

‘If you watch the Glastonbury footage of my gig, Maisie’s on someone’s shoulders the whole time,’ he grinned.

Ed was spotted filming scenes for Aussie soap Home and Away last month, with fans excited to see him head Down Under. And the star was just as thrilled about being cast in the popular series. In fact, it seems to have made him hungry for more.

“It’s an Australian institution. It’s always on in my local chip shop,” he said to news.com.au.

“I got asked to do it and it sounded like it could be fun. I did Shortland Street in New Zealand as well and I’m sure if Emmerdale or EastEnders ever ask me in England I would do that as well.”
