Two generations of Australian hit-making will share the stage in 2027 as Eurogliders and Taxiride ft Jason Singh announce a six-date tour across Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales, bringing together some of the most recognisable Australian pop and rock songs of the past four decades.

Eurogliders and Taxiride ft Jason Singh will unite for The Ride & Glide Tour in April and May 2027, combining the 1980s Australian pop hits of Eurogliders with the turn-of-the-century chart successes of Taxiride.

The six-show tour will travel through Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales, giving audiences the opportunity to hear two catalogues that helped define different periods of Australian radio.

For Eurogliders, the setlist will draw on the songs that established the Perth band as one of Australia’s most successful pop acts of the 1980s. Grace Knight will lead the Eurogliders performance, revisiting favourites including “Heaven (Must Be There)”, “We Will Together” and “Can’t Wait To See You”.

Taxiride ft Jason Singh brings a different chapter of Australian hit-making to the bill. Singh was the voice behind the Melbourne band’s biggest recordings, including “Get Set”, “Everywhere You Go” and “Creepin’ Up Slowly”, songs that became familiar fixtures on Australian radio around the turn of the millennium.

The pairing brings together two acts whose commercial peaks were separated by more than a decade but whose songs remain part of Australia’s popular music catalogue.

Eurogliders formed in Perth in 1980 around vocalist Grace Knight and songwriter, guitarist and keyboard player Bernie Lynch. Their breakthrough came with “Heaven (Must Be There)”, which reached No. 2 on the Australian singles chart in 1984 and also attracted attention in North America.

The success continued with the album Absolutely, which produced further hit singles with “We Will Together” and “Can’t Wait To See You”. The combination of Knight’s distinctive vocals, Lynch’s songwriting and the band’s sophisticated new-wave pop sound made Eurogliders one of the defining Australian acts of the decade.

The forthcoming tour also takes place following the death of Bernie Lynch on 12 March 2026 after a battle with cancer. Lynch was central to the band’s songwriting identity and the creation of the recordings that established Eurogliders nationally and internationally. Grace Knight has continued to perform the catalogue, keeping those songs in the live repertoire.

Taxiride’s success came with a new generation of Australian pop-rock in the late 1990s. The Melbourne band scored a No. 1 album and a run of successful singles, with Jason Singh’s vocals helping establish the group’s national profile.

“Get Set” became one of the band’s breakthrough recordings, followed by songs including “Everywhere You Go” and “Creepin’ Up Slowly”. The latter became one of the most recognisable Australian radio hits of the early 2000s.

Following a trademark dispute with former bandmates, which was resolved in 2024, Singh has continued performing under the name Taxiride ft Jason Singh. The current configuration carries the songs associated with his time as the band’s frontman.

Singh has also pursued a solo career, releasing material including the albums Humannequin and Vale, while maintaining a connection with the Taxiride catalogue through live performances.

Eurogliders have also continued recording beyond their original 1980s success, with later releases including Don’t Eat The Daisies and The Blue Kiss Project. However, the songs that first introduced the band to Australian audiences remain central to their live appeal.

The Ride & Glide Tour takes its name from the two acts, but the musical connection is found in the enduring popularity of their respective catalogues. Eurogliders represent the polished Australian new-wave and pop sound of the 1980s, while Taxiride’s material reflects the melodic, guitar-driven Australian rock that found a major audience around 2000.

The six venues provide an intimate setting for the performances, with the tour opening at Geelong’s Eureka Hotel on 23 April before moving to Melbourne’s Memo Music Hall the following evening.

Queensland gets two dates in May, with The Triffid in Brisbane on 14 May followed by Miami Marketta on the Gold Coast on 15 May. The final two shows take place in New South Wales, at Sydney’s Factory Theatre on 28 May and The Royal Hotel in Queanbeyan on 29 May.

For audiences who followed Australian music through the 1980s and early 2000s, the tour brings together two distinct eras of familiar local hits in one concert experience.
