The ‘hiatus’, (that wonderful word bands use these days instead of breaking up) is over for Franz Ferdinand. They are back together and have a new album on the way.

The name of the 4th Franz Ferdinand album is ‘Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action’. The Scottish band will return with their new album in August, four years after their last album ‘Tonight’ and nine years since the debut ‘Franz Ferdinand’.

‘Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action’ was recorded at Alex Kapranos’ studio in Scotland and Nick McCarthy’s Sausage Studio in London. In a somewhat cryptic statement Kapranos said, “The Intellect Vs The Soul, played out by some dumb band.”*.

The Franz Ferdinand line-up remains the same. Franz Ferdinand are still Alex Kapranos, Nick McCarthy, Bob Hardy and Paul Thomson.

‘Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action’ is due on August 23 in Australia, August 26 for the rest of the world.

The tracklisting for the album is as follows:
1. Right Action
2. Evil Eye
3. Love Illumination
4. Stand On The Horizon
5. Fresh Strawberries
6. Bullet
7. Treason! Animals
8. The Universe Expanded
9. Brief Encounters
10. Goodbye Lovers & Friends
