Grammy Award winning Australian songwriter Gotye’s next release will be a live album and movie.
‘My Brain’s Off (And I Like It) was filmed at Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club during The Basics recent ‘Leftover Ingredients’ tour.
The movie will premiere in Melbourne at ACMI on December 12.
The Basics were Wally DeBacker (Gotye’s) band before he captured the world solo with Kimbra and the song ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’.
‘My Brain’s Off (And I Like It)’ captured the reunion of The Basics after a 3-year hiatus. Wally Basic, Kris Basic and Tim Basic of The Basics together with director Ryan Gaskett will also be at the premiere of the movie and have a Q&A session at the screening.
The Basics are also very much back together and will start work on a new studio album in 2014.
The Basics will also appear at the Woodford Folk Festival at Woodfordia, Queensland on December 29 and 30.
