Gurrumul will tour to support the release of his third album ‘The Gospel Album’.

‘The Gospel Album’ will be released on July 31 and Gurrumul will support the release with a six-date national tour including Sophie Brous’ Supersense event at the Arts Centre in Melbourne.

According to promoter Chugg Entertainment, “Gurrumul’s The Gospel Album is a dedication to his mother and aunts, who brought him up with songs and lullabies from the church at Elcho Island. As a small boy Gurrumul was not only influenced by the traditional music of his clan but by the gospel music he heard every Sunday at the local Methodist church. The Gospel Album is a re-imagining of the spiritual songs that came to north-east Arnhem Land via Christian missionaries”.

Gurrumul dates

July 29, Sydney, Enmore Theatre
August 2, Brisbane, QPAC
August 5, Adelaide, Festival Theatre
August 8, Melbourne, Supersense
August 10, Canberra, Canberra Theatre
August 12, Perth, Concert Hall
