Human Nature receive Medal of Honour in Australia Day Honours

Human Nature members Andrew Tierney, Mike Tierney, Toby Allen and Phil Burton have been honoured for their services to music with the Medal of the Order of Australia.

Human Nature have managed to successful sell America to the Americans. In 2008, the Sydney quartet went to Las Vegas for a two-month engagement performing the songs of Motown. They now live in Las Vegas and after 10 years continue their long-going Vegas residency to this day, often now performing Motown songs with guest Motown artists.

In a statement, Human Nature said:

“We are beyond humbled to be awarded this honour by the government and our country. We are guys from south western Sydney and have just loved all that has happened in our career. There are many people and partners that have helped us achieve our dreams and this is as much for them as it is for us. Of course, like any Australians we share this with our families who have always believed in, inspired and motivated us to be who we are. We are the proudest Aussies on the planet! We mention our love of our country every night in our Vegas show because Australia really is the lucky country. There is nothing better than our people, our beautiful land itself but most of all – the Aussie mateship, humor and at times naive will to just “go and gettem’” … which we have done so many times over the years. This mateship is our foundation. Even on the toughest day, we love each other. Australia, this is one of our proudest moments. We are so truly humbled and thankful. We will always look to make you proud. This is just amazing for the four of us. Thank you.”
