On 1 August, Ian Moss’ first solo album ‘Matchbook’ will turn 30. From November, Ian will be touring to play songs from the album live.

‘Matchbox’ came out five years after the last Cold Chisel album before the breakup ‘Twentieth Century’. Ian shared the lead vocal on the hit ‘Saturday Night’ on that album.

‘Matchbox’ was a number one album in Australia. Nine of the 10 songs were written or co-written by Cold Chisel’s Don Walker. The album delivered four Top 40 hit songs for Ian, ‘Tucker’s Daughter’, ‘Telephone Booth’, ‘Out of the Fire’ and ‘Mr Rain’.

At the ARIA Awards of 1990 the album won Album of the Year and Ian won Best Make Artist and Breakthrough Artist-Album awards as well as Breakthrough Artist – Single and Song of the Year.
