Justin Timberlake Dedicates Concert Film To Prince

Justin Timberlake’s new concert film is dedicated to the memory of late superstar Prince.

Justin Timberlake’s concert film, Justin Timberlake + the Tennessee Kids, will premiere on Netflix on Wednesday (12Oct16). It captures the final performance of Justin’s 20/20 Experience World Tour at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas last year (15), and is directed by Silence of Lambs’ Jonathan Demme.

And the SexyBack singer feels it’s only right that it be dedicated to the Purple Rain singer and music legend, who died from a fentanyl overdose in April (16) at the age of 57.

“His influence, and I have this in common with I think every musician of my generation and the generations to come, his influence is all over everyone’s music and there’s so much that I feel like I’ve maybe consciously and unconsciously borrowed from him that it felt…right,” Justin explained to E! News. “It just feels right to dedicate the film to him.”

Director Jonathan agreed: “The film’s been blessed with that name and that spirit,” he said.

The movie gives viewers a front row seat, and a backstage pass to the singer’s money-spinning onstage extravaganza – complete with plenty of sweat.

The 35-year-old father of one, who is married to actress Jessica Biel, recently opened up about the film in an interview with Billboard Magazine.

“I’m a softie,” Justin shared of getting emotional on stage. “It happens some nights because you’re only one man standing up there, and you’re getting all of this. I feel like I look out in the crowd and see all these different walks of life, ages, sexes, races, and it makes me wonder, ‘What are they going through? What is their life like?’”
