Keith Urban brought his wife to work to celebrate their 8th wedding anniversary. Urban was performing at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena while Nicole Kidman was dancing away at the back of the room.

Urban put to rest media reports of a marriage split when he dedicated ‘Without You’ to his famous better half. The song opens with the words “I loved you since the very first day, When I caught you looking my way, I smiled and just knew it”.

Keith told the crowd how Nicole took some convincing to move forward with the relationship. “She was saying things like ‘it’s a long shot’. I knew she loved me and was just nervous. I did everything I could to remind her that I was going to be her man forever,” he said.

Keith Urban is showcasing his latest album ‘The Fuse’ on this, the ‘Light The Fuse’ world tour. Nine of the albums 13 songs are represented in the setlist.

Urban fans are die-hard standing from the moment Keith came on stage and singing along to every song. This is a Country music show with a pop star fan-base. The mainly female audience screamed like schoolgirls for their Australian idol.

Far north Queensland recruit Brooke Schubert joins Urban for the Miranda Lambert part of ‘We Were Us’. Keith tells the story about how he was pointed in her direction on YouTube.

Special mention needs to go to opening act Sheppard, who are about to become Australia’s next big export. George and Amy Sheppard share lead vocals in the band. Both have a stage presence that warms and works the room. Sheppard have great songs with great hooks and with hits like ‘Let Me Down Easy’ and ‘Geronimo’ and the new song ‘Something’s Missing’ have a strong set that kept the audience engaged and their vocal chords dusted for Keith.

Keith Urban is touring Australia for Chugg Entertainment.
