Kid Rock Admits His Senate Run Was A Joke

There’s a wide swath of America breathing a huge sigh of relief today while another swath is greatly disappointed. Kid Rock has said that his run for the United States Senate was just a joke.

Earlier today (October 24), the singer was on the Howard Stern show where he was asked about the run.

“Fuck no, I’m not running for Senate”, Rock said. “Are you fucking kidding me? Who couldn’t figure that out?”

He continued “I’m releasing a new album. I’m going on tour, too. Are you fucking shitting me?”

Kid Rock originally stoked the rumor mill in July when signs began showing up saying “Kid Rock for Senate”. He added “I have had a ton of emails and texts asking me if this website is real… kidrockforsenate.com The answer is an absolute YES. Stay tuned, I will have a major announcement in the near future – Kid Rock”

That major announcement never came but a lot of merchandise did which the singer happily sold while his fans continued to think a run was possible.

He told Stern “I have people that work for me, they’re on the in, I’m like, ‘Fuck no we’re not doing it. But let’s roll with it for a little while. This is awesome.” He later added “It’s the worst advice that I ever gave myself. But it’s been the most creative thing I’ve ever done. And I’ve gotten to see everyone’s true colors.”
