Former AC/DC player joined Tex Perkins’ Beast of Bourbon to belt out the old AC/DC song ‘Ride On’ at the Reclink Community Cup in Melbourne on Sunday.

The Reclink Community Cup is an annual charity football match featuring the Triple R/PBS Megahertz vs The Rockdogs.

The Megahertz features staff and volunteers from community radio stations PBS-FM and Triple R FM while the Rockdogs is made up mainly of Melbourne’s music community.

Evans played for The Rockdogs. The team also featured Bon Scott’s son Dave Stevens of Pure Pop Records and Andrew ‘AK’ Kahofer of AC/DC covers band AC/DSHE.

Laura Imbruglia, Monique Brumby, Ash Naylor of Even, Josh Crawley of Graveyard Train and Dan Sultan were also Rockdogs. Before the match Sultan won The Kate Bentley Hottest Legs Award.

While King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard performed at half time, the stage was handed over to Perkins and Beasts of Boubon following the match.

AC/DC ‘Ride On’ was featured on the band’s 1976 album ‘Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap’.

The final score for The Megahertz vs Rockdogs match was a 28-all draw. The event raised over $100,000 for Reclink Australia.
