Mark Kingsmill To Play His Last Hoodoo Gurus Show This Weekend

Hoodoo Gurus stalwart drummer Mark Kingsmill will play his last show with the band this Saturday at the Red Hot Summer tour in Ballarat this Saturday.

Kingsmill joined Hoodoo Gurus in August 1984, replacing original drummer James Baker who was sacked from the band. Mark’s first album with the band was for the second record ‘Mars Needs Guitars’, featuring the hits ‘Bittersweet’ and ‘Like Wow Wipeout’. He has played on every Hoodoo Gurus album since.

“These next couple of weeks will be our last shows with Mark on drums, which is a bizarre notion for all of us to contemplate,” said Dave Faulkner at the Hoodoo Gurus Facebook page. “After more than thirty years of working together his departure is going to leave a huge hole in our hearts as well as our music. It was strange talking about this knowing that Mark won’t be involved next time as part of the fun”.

Hoodoo Gurus will take to the stage for one final time with Mark Kingsmill between 8 and9pm for the Red Hot Summer tour in Ballarat on Saturday, March 14.

“The enjoyment we’ll have playing these shows is going to be tinged with some sadness for sure. Ah, well. Fuck that, let’s dance and enjoy it while we can, said Dave.
