Mark Opitz has produced new music for The Hots so you know its going to be good

Studio legend Mark Opitz has re-entered the studio to work with Sydney husband and wife rock duo The Hots.

The Hots are Foxie Kelly and Ronnie Simmons. Ronnie sometimes also works with Richie Ramones band.

Opitz has recorded the new EP for The Hots including this song ‘Before You’.

Mark Opitz started his career co-producing The Angels ‘Face To Face’ and engineering AC/DC ‘Powerage’, both in 1978.

In 1979 he co-produced The Angels ‘No Exit’ before starting an 80s relationship with Cold Chisel working on ‘East’, ‘Swingshift’, ‘Circus Animals’ and ‘Twentieth Century’, ‘Barking Spiders Live’ as well as INXS ‘Shabooh Shoobah’, Divinyls ‘Desperate and ‘What A Life’, Australian Crawl ‘Semantics’, Hoodoo Gurus ‘Blow Your Cool’ and Noiseworks ‘Noiseworks’.

In the 90s two more studio albums and a live record for INXS and in 2006 was recruited by Kiss to produce ‘Kiss Symphony: Alive IV’ for Kiss.

Earlier this year Mark was awarded the HC Coombs Creative Arts Fellowship by the ANU in Canberra.
