Matchbox Twenty fans in Tucson had to wait a little longer than usual for their band this week. A swarm of bees decided to take to the arena before the show.

Matchbox Twenty played Anselmo Valencia Amphitheater in Tucson on Thursday. Singer Rob Thomas posted to Instragam “Beekeeper has arrived!! Still trying to make this happen. Can’t make this up!”

While action was taken, the band were backstage “jamming a bee solo”.

Sammy Hagar has always had a reputation for surrounding himself with powerhouse players, but his upcoming live album, Sammy Hagar & The Best Of All Worlds Band – The Residency (out October 10, 2025 via Big Machine Rock), brings a distinctly Australian twist. On keyboards, vocals and guitar is Rai Thistlethwayte, best known at home for fronting Thirsty Merc and more recently as a member of The Fabulous Caprettos.
