Canada’s indie rock heroes Metric have been forced to cancel their Perth show but do have a new video as a consolation.

The band will be in Australia for Splendour In The Grass, have booked sideshows, and have recently released their new album Synthetica.

It was all good news for Aussies into the band, until now. Poor Perth fans will be missing out on a previously planned visit.

They say in a press release: “Due to circumstances outside of their control, it is with deep regret that Metric advise their upcoming performance at Capitol in Perth on Wednesday 25 July has been cancelled. Metric’s performance in Perth in 2009 was a highlight of their Australian tour and they look forward to returning to Perth in the near future.”

Sad fans can shuffle down to their place of purchase for a refund. Bummer. Sorry, West Aussies. At least you can enjoy their new clip for single ‘Youth Without Youth’.
