Rihanna Album Delayed

Rihanna is not happy with her new album and doesn’t believe it’s ready for release, according to her father.

Rihanna, real name Robyn Fenty, has already revealed the artwork and name of her upcoming eighth record, Anti, although at the moment no release date has been confirmed. It is her first offering since 2012’s Unapologetic and although songs including B**ch Better Have My Money and FourFiveSeconds, a collaborating with Kanye West and Paul McCartney, have been made public, her dad Ronald Fenty insists Rihanna is a long way from completion.

“Robyn is not happy with the new album,” he told Britain’s The Sun newspaper. “She’s not comfortable with it. When she went over the songs she found all these little things she wanted to change and was worried about it. It’s a long process and isn’t easy.

“She has some things she likes but wants something more. To her it’s not ready. She doesn’t know which of the 26 songs to use. She’s still looking for fresh material and has the energy for it.”

Rihanna is apparently putting a lot of pressure on herself this time around, as her new record represents a change professionally for her. It is her first with her new label Roc Nation and so she wants it to blow everything else she’s done out of the water – so much so, Ronald claims she’s referring to the music as her “first album”.

He has already heard the tunes and was impressed. Rather than relying on a lot of collaborations, Rihanna has decided to show off her own vocal range and many of the tracks are solos.

“You don’t miss the other singers as she’s so good,” he added. “There are some nice, mellow songs. I heard two that were real nice and sounded like Diamonds – slow with some hip-hop vibes. But whatever she chooses she’ll hit it out of the park.”
