The racing driver has been working on his music since his days dating Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger. After the sportsman was seen heading back to a hotel with The X Factor judge following the British Fashion Awards last week, the pair sparked romance rumours.
However, a source has insisted the couple are just friends and Lewis has been seeking advice from hugely popular singer Rita.
“Everyone assumed that when they left the awards together and headed to a hotel, it was another relationship for Rita,” a source told British newspaper The Sun. “But they are just friends and Lewis spent the whole time talking about his music.
“Lewis was constantly talking about his high hopes for a singing career. Rita said she would help however she could – even with a collaboration. She’s had a number of hits and has good connections in the music world.”
After they were first seen together, Lewis then joined Rita and her friends and family to mark her birthday at the Sexy Fish restaurant.
But once again, Lewis apparently used the opportunity to get tips from Rita as he prepares to make his musical debut.
“He was like an excitable child when talking about his music,” the source added. “Even in a bigger group he turned the conversation towards his wild hopes and dreams for chart domination.”
Despite the fact they are just friends, Lewis and Rita are both currently single.
Rita split from fashion designer boyfriend Ricky Hil earlier this year, while Lewis and Nicole ended their relationship for good in March (15).
Since then, Lewis has been romantically linked to singer Rihanna and reality television star and model Kendall Jenner. However, he has steadfastly maintained that he is single.
