Rapper Tyga is in shatters after learning his friend and bodyguard died in a sudden accident on Wednesday.

Arlester Henderson, who also goes by the nickname ‘Punch’, was driving on a Los Angeles freeway when he got into a collision with another vehicle.

Local police tell TMZ.com Henderson, 29, got out of his SUV in order to check on the passengers in the other car, when he was struck by another passing vehicle and subsequently killed.

Tyga’s representative informs TMZ the rapper is “devastated, shocked and heartbroken” following his friend’s death.

The rapper also took to Instagram on Thursday (31Mar16) to pay tribute to his pal, posting a photo of him giving Henderson a hug inside the hip-hop star’s Last Kings clothing store in Los Angeles.

Tyga added the caption, “Rip Punch. I know you looking down from a better place.”

The sad news comes days after Tyga had a joyous Easter Sunday (27Mar16) with his three-year-old son, King Cairo, girlfriend Kylie Jenner and her extended family, including Kylie’s brother-in-law Kanye West.

Tyga has previously spoken about how important personal relationships are to him, using his good pal Chris Brown as an example, the hip hop star told radio station Hot 97 he values authenticity, especially after working in the music industry for so long.

“(Chris) is a genuine person that’s a good friend,” he explained. “This industry is so fake and half of these rappers and everybody just be weirdos. They get money and they get a little clout and a little fame, and they think they’re a different person. It’s just about being genuine. People can camouflage.”
