Neil Diamond’s iconic Hot August Night live album is about to go through its third instalment with ‘Hot August Night III’ to be released at the end of the month.

‘Hot August Night III’ saw Diamondback at the historic Greek Theatre in Los Angeles in 2012 where he first recorded the classic ‘Hot August Night’ in 1972.

Australia gave the first album its biggest success. ‘Hot August Night’ spent 29 weeks at the top of the Australian album chart in 1973 and 1974. It is estimated to have sold over 1 million units in Australia but as ARIA did not start until 1983 there is no ongoing statistics to compare with post 1983 sales.

In August 1986 Neil Diamond returned to the Greek Theatre to record ‘Hot August Night II’.

‘Hot August Night III’ will be released on 31 August 2018.
