Pink Floyd’s new album, The Endless River, has today become the most pre-ordered artist album of 2014 on Amazon.

The Endless River, their first album since 1994’s The Division Bell, has overtaken Coldplay’s Ghost Stories as the most pre-ordered album of the year so far.

With more than two weeks to go until its release on November 10, the album looks set to rival One Direction’s 2013 hit Midnight Memories as the most pre-ordered artist album of all time on Amazon.co.uk, currently sitting at number 5 in the all-time pre-order chart behind One Direction, Robbie Williams, Take That and Susan Boyle.

Through Amazon AutoRip, customers who order The Endless River CD or vinyl formats will receive a free digital version of the album in their Amazon Music Library on the day of release.

“That Pink Floyd’s The Endless River could become the most -pre-ordered album of all time on Amazon.co.uk, following other artists like One Direction and Robbie Williams who have held that top spot, is a testament to the strength and diversity of the UK music scene” said Director of Amazon EU Digital Music, Steve Bernstein.

“Customers love the convenience of pre-ordering The Endless River on CD or vinyl knowing they will receive a digital version of the album for free in their Amazon Music Library on the day the album is released through Amazon AutoRip.”
