Please Help Spencer P. Jones Who Has Been Diagnosed With Inoperable Cancer

It was upsetting to see the news that Spencer P Jones has been told his cancer is inoperable considering the events of the past week in my own family following the passing of my wife Ros O’Gorman.

Spencer’s wife Angie has set up a gofundme page to help with medical and ongoing expenses. She broke the sad news that Spencer’s condition is terminal. “An unfortunate & surprise shock diagnosis has caught us out after assuming all was going well for the past 2 1/2 years whilst being treated for Liver Disease.”

61-year old Spencer P. Jones was a member of The Johnny’s. They released two albums in the 80s.

Jones’ was also a member of Paul Kelly’s band and founding member of Beasts of Bourbon with Tex Perkins.

Angie said, “The sad news is, that currently there are no treatments available for Spence due to the complexity of the tumour’s position.

“Spence and we plan to fight this to the end. We plan to beat the prognosis of less than six months.

“Spencer would like to spend this precious time with his immediate family and close friends so some privacy would be appreciated as his energy levels are very limited right now.

“We delayed the announcement as it was already a huge blow seeing our close friend Brian Hooper pass and felt (his wife) Ninevah, (and children) Ava and Charlize needed as much support as possible.

“Spencer and I plan to keep positive. We got married shortly after his diagnosis in April after eight years together, which was a happy event for us.

“Spencer was due to play with the Beasts of Bourbon at the Azkena festival in Spain in June but will not take his place. A replacement has not been announced”.

Angie has had to cut her work hours in half to help care for her husband which has left a large financial hole as their bills are still the same. This campaign is to help raise some money to help with their ongoing living & medical costs along the way. As she may need to stop work completely as the disease progresses.
