Gene Simmons’ home has been searched, but police say he is not a suspect.

The KISS bassist’s house was investigated yesterday by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, but nether Gene nor any members of his family are considered suspects in the investigation.

‘Today (August 20) members of the Los Angeles Police Department visited Mr. And Mrs. Simmons at their home to discuss a crime that may have occurred on their property last year while Mr. Simmons was away on tour with KISS,” a rep for Gene said in a statement.

“Neither Mr. Simmons nor any member of his family is a Person Of Interest in the investigation and they are cooperating fully with the investigation. At this time, the police have requested that Mr. Simmons and his family not discuss the investigation publicly so as not to compromise it.’

While details surrounding the case are being kept quiet, Lt. John Jenal wanted to make it clear that Gene and his family have been ‘extremely cooperative’.

Gene’s wife Shannon was quick to take to her Twitter to thank fans for their positive reactions.

“Thanks for your support. We couldn’t be more horrified that someone used our residence for such heinous crimes. Law enforcement is on it (sic),’ she posted.

Gene, 65, is yet to comment on the police action, although he has retweeted numerous links to the news story, as well as sharing Shannon’s post.

Gene’s daughter Sophie also shared a message, saying she was ‘horrified that someone used’ her parents’ home to commit such a ‘heinous’ crime.
