R.E.M.’s biggest album, Out of Time, is about to get the deluxe reissue treatment on November 18 via Concord/Bicycle Music.

Released in 1991, Out of Time was one of only two studio albums from the band to top the U.S. charts (Monster did it again in 1994), also hitting number 1 in Canada, the U.K. Austria and the Netherlands. It went four-times Platinum in the U.S., five-times in Britain and two-times in Australia.

The album propelled the band from a cult-like following to international success on the success of the singles Losing My Religion (1991 / #4 / #1 Alternative / #1 Mainstream Rock) and Shiny Happy People (1991 / #10 / #3 Alternative / #8 Mainstream Rock). At the 1991 Grammys, Losing My Religion won for Pop Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocal and Music Video, Short Form while the album won for Alternative Music Performance. Losing My Religion was also nominated for Record and Song of the Year and the album for Album of the Year, losing all three major categories to Natalie Cole.

The four-CD set includes the original album on Disc 1 and nineteen demos on Disc 2. The third disc is a performance by the band on Mountain Stage while Disc 4 is a Blu-Ray with the album in Hi-Res Stereo and Hi-Res 5.1 Surround Sound along with eight music videos and an eighteen minute Electronic Press Kit (EPK).

A two-CD edition contains just discs 1 and 2 from the deluxe set while the 3-vinyl LP version has the original album and two records of demos.

All versions have liner notes by Annie Zaleski, including interviews with all four band members and producers Scott Litt and John Keane.
