Reba McEntire Splits With Husband

Reba McEntire and her husband Narvel Blackstock have split up after decades of marriage.

The 60-year-old country music songstress tied the knot with the 58-year-old entertainment manager in 1989 but on Monday the pair announced they have been officially separated for months now.

“Despite this being the end of their marriage, they continue to support each other,” the former couple said in a joint statement issued by Big Machine Label Group to the Associated Press. “They have worked together for 35 years and will continue to do so. They have asked that you respect their privacy during this time.”

The Big Machine Label Group spokesperson declined to inform the outlet as to whether Reba and Narvel are planning to divorce.

The former couple share one son together, race car driver Shelby Blackstock, and Narvel is father to three children from a previous relationship. Narvel runs a management company which oversees the careers of Reba, Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson. Pop songstress Kelly is the wife of Brandon Blackstock, who is Narvel’s son and Reba’s stepson.

Reba entered the music scene in 1975 and she released her 27th studio album, Love Somebody, in April this year. While promoting her newest offering, Reba may have subtly hinted at what went wrong in her marriage to Narvel.

“There’s more men on the radio than women,” Reba noted to USA Today. “It went to a stage of good-ol’-boy, pickup-truck, gotta-go-down-to-the-river, that kind of stuff. And I’m missing the romance.”
