Australian singer-songwriter Rick Price will take his new music and career-spanning catalogue on the road this spring with a national acoustic tour built around his latest single, ‘Call On Me’.

Rick Price will return to Australian stages from September for the Call On Me Tour, a national run of intimate performances celebrating the release of his latest single, Call On Me, from his recent album Hometown. The tour will see Price perform new material alongside songs that have defined his career, including Heaven Knows and Not a Day Goes By, with more than 25 dates scheduled across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
The tour follows the release of Call On Me, a song that reflects the themes explored across Hometown, an album centred on identity, resilience and the influence of place. Rather than presenting a full band production, Price has opted for a stripped-back format that places the focus on songwriting and storytelling, an approach that has become increasingly central to his live performances over the past two decades.
For Australian audiences, the tour represents another chapter in one of the country’s longest-running singer-songwriter careers. Since emerging as a solo artist in the early 1990s, Price has maintained a balance between recording, touring, songwriting and production while continuing to develop new material.
The new single continues the creative direction established with Hometown, following earlier releases including You Can’t Keep a Good Man Down and Let It Go. Alongside his own recording career, Price has remained active behind the scenes through his Clarice Records label, where he continues to produce and mentor emerging artists. His recent production work includes the forthcoming EP secret heart by Australian artist issi, due for release later this year.
Price first established himself as a solo artist with the release of Not a Day Goes By in 1992 before achieving another Top 10 Australian hit with Heaven Knows. His debut album of the same name reached No. 3 on the ARIA Albums Chart and earned Platinum certification. The title track also received APRA Song of the Year, cementing Price’s reputation as one of Australia’s leading contemporary songwriters.
Rather than repeating the commercial formula of his debut, Price broadened his musical direction with 1995’s Tamborine Mountain, drawing more heavily on acoustic influences and narrative songwriting. The album produced the hit River of Love and marked a shift towards the style that would increasingly define his later recordings.
Since relocating to Nashville in 2009, Price has continued to divide his time between Australia and the United States, working not only as a performer but also as a songwriter, producer and collaborator. Over the years he has contributed to recordings with artists including Tina Arena, Tommy Emmanuel, Jack Jones and Dami Im, while also working with international musicians across pop, country and rock.
His catalogue has continued to expand through releases including The Water’s Edge, Tennessee Sky, Soulville and the collaborative album California Dreaming with Jack Jones. In 2020 he received APRA’s Overseas Recognition Award in acknowledgement of his contribution to Australian music while living abroad.
The Call On Me Tour reflects both Price’s history and his ongoing creative output. While audiences can expect familiar songs from throughout his catalogue, the inclusion of new material demonstrates that the tour is focused as much on the present as it is on celebrating more than three decades of recording and performing.
The first leg of the tour begins on 18 September at Zamia Theatre on Tamborine Mountain before travelling through metropolitan and regional centres across eastern Australia and concluding, based on currently announced dates, in Queensland during November.
