The Rolling Stones Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ron Wood have all issued statements in support of Mick Jagger following the death of his girlfriend L’Wren Scott.

Scott was found dead in her apartment in New York on Monday. She had been Mick Jagger’s girlfriend since 2001.

Jagger and The Rolling Stones had arrived in Perth on Monday for the start of the 14 On Fire Australian and New Zealand tour.

In his statement Keith Richards said, “No-one saw this coming…Mick’s always been my soul brother and we love him…we’re thick as thieves and we’re all feeling for the man…we really hate to disappoint our fans but we’ll see everyone really soon.”

Charlie Watts commented, “Needless to say we are all completely shocked but our first thought is to support Mick at this awful time. We intend to come back to Australia and New Zealand as soon as it proves possible.”

Ronnie Wood added, “This is such terrible news and right now the important thing is that we are all pulling together to offer Mick our support and help him through this sad time. Without a doubt we intend to be back out on that stage as soon as we can.”

Meanwhile an autopsy has now officially concluded that Scott’s death as suicide. The New York City Medical Examiner has confirmed.

The Rolling Stones Australian and New Zealand tour has been officially postponed. Tour promoter Frontier Touring has confirmed that rescheduled dates are now being planned and will be announced as soon as possible.
