Simon And Garfunkel Will Never Record Together Again

Other than live shows, it has been 27 years since Simon & Garfunkel recorded in a studio and it doesn’t look like that long drought will end anytime soon (if ever).

Paul Simon guested on the BBC Radio 4’s Today program on Wednesday where he said that, even if Art Garfunkel wasn’t having ongoing vocal chord problems, he doubts that they would ever record together again. “There are a couple of issues. One, Art has some problem with his vocal chords and he can’t sing in his mid range. So it’s really a moot point unless he can sing. From my own perspective, I would just as soon not go back and visit the past.”

The last studio recording by the duo was 1975’s My Little Town which appeared on both Garfunkel’s Breakaway album and Simon’s Still Crazy After All These Years. Since then, they’ve released four live albums, The Concert in Central Park (1982), Live in New York City, 1967 (2002), Old Friends: Live on Stage (2004) and Live 1969 (2008).
