Former Supertramp member Roger Hodgson will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the band’s icon ‘Breakfast In America’ album with shows in Australia in 2019.

‘Breakfast In America’ was released on 29 March, 1979.

Hodgson’s ‘Breakfast In America’ songs are ‘The Logical Song’, ‘Breakfast In America’, ‘Take The Long Way Home’, ‘Lord Is It Mind’ and the epic finale ‘Child of Vision’.

‘Breakfast In America’ was a number one album in Australia in 1979 and the number four album of 1979 behind Billy Joel ‘52nd Street’, Rod Stewart ‘Blondes Have More Fun’ and Bee Gees ‘Spirits Having Flown’.

Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies formed Supertramp in 1969 but for the first year they were known as Daddy. Hodgson left the band after the 1982 album ‘Famous Last Words. Rick Davies continued to tour as Superstamp but hasn’t performed under the name since 2011. He was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2015 leading to the cancellation of all upcoming Supertramp shows.

Hodgson has released three solo albums ‘In The Eye of the Storm’ (1984), ‘Hai Hai’ (1987) and ‘Open The Door’ (2000).

Leo Sayer Shares His Thoughts on The Passing of Sly Stone

There really is a riot going on right now, so what a poignant moment it seems to be to lose a hero I never met, yet a man I often imagined as my soul brother. I worked with many of his alumni (including the man who helped invent him, fellow San Fran disk jockey Tom Donahue), and to say they and he inspired me would be a useless understatement.
