SXSW Sydney and Melbourne Meet-ups Scheduled February 17

by Announcement on February 6, 2015

in News,Noise Pro

The Corner Hotel in Melbourne and The Newtown Social Club in Sydney
will be the venues for free meet-ups for SXSW delegates and bands
Tuesday February 17.

It’s a way for SXSW virgins to meet with veterans and also to interface with each other in advance of SXSW.

It will start at 5:30 with drinks, four speakers at 6:30 in each
venue will share their secrets, tips and techniques for success at
SXSW, we’ll entertain questions from the audience and wrap up about 8
pm. We do this each year a month out to give newcomers the edge,
grant old-timers a chance to catch up and inform those still thinking
of going whether or not to do it this year or next.

Two of our major speakers will be Marc Sousley (GM of Secret Sounds
Touring, formerly with C3 Events in Austin) and Millie Millgate of
Sounds Australia who are running the Aussie BBQ and concert Friday
March 20 at Brush Park in Austin. We’ve also added Mumbrella and
Encore editor Alex Hayes to the Sydney lineup as one of the speakers
relying his advice from the Film and Interactive perspective. This is
a crucial networking event for both bands/music delegates as well as
Interactive and Film attendees.

NO RSVP is needed just show up at either venue on the night. We will
try to set up similar events in other major cities if we can.

SXSW Meetup locations
