Australia will be well represented at the 2026 Grammy Awards, with Perth’s Tame Impala, Sydney’s RÜFÜS DU SOL and Melbourne’s Amyl & The Sniffers earning nominations across major contemporary categories. The awards will be announced on 1 February 2026.

There is also an Australian connection through BLACKPINK’s Rosé. Born in New Zealand, Rosé moved to Melbourne at the age of seven and attended Kew East Primary School and Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College, placing her firmly in the “and a bit Aussie” camp for this year’s nominees.

Tame Impala
• Best Dance/Electronic Recording — “End Of Summer”

For Kevin Parker’s Tame Impala, the nomination continues a long run of Grammy recognition. Parker’s project, formed in Perth in 2007, has grown from a bedroom recording venture into one of the world’s most influential psychedelic acts. Early releases led to debut album Innerspeaker in 2010, followed by breakthrough record Lonerism in 2012 which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album. With Currents in 2015 and The Slow Rush in 2020, Tame Impala became a global festival staple, winning numerous ARIA Awards and cementing Parker’s reputation as one of Australia’s greatest contemporary music exports. The 2025 album Deadbeat marked another chapter in the evolution of the project, which remains fully written and produced by Parker. Tame Impala receives a 2026 nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Recording for End Of Summer.

Amyl and The Sniffers
• Best Rock Performance — “U Should Not Be Doing That”

Melbourne punk heroes Amyl & The Sniffers continue their rapid rise with a nomination for Best Rock Performance for U Should Not Be Doing That. The band, fronted by the hard-hitting and unstoppable Amy Taylor, formed out of the Melbourne share-house scene and quickly built a reputation for energetic shows and raw, unfiltered songwriting. Their debut album Amyl And The Sniffers arrived in 2019 and was followed by Comfort To Me in 2021, and Cartoon Darkness in 2024. With influences ranging from Iggy & The Stooges to AC/DC and Dolly Parton, the group has already won three ARIA Awards including Best Group in 2022. This second consecutive Grammy nod signals their continued international momentum.

RÜFÜS DU SOL
• Best Dance/Electronic Album — Inhale / Exhale

RÜFÜS DU SOL, who began in Sydney as RÜFÜS before adopting their global name in 2018, are nominated for Best Dance/Electronic Album for Inhale / Exhale. Since debuting with Atlas in 2013, the trio have become one of Australia’s most successful electronic exports, topping Australian charts with Atlas and Bloom, and expanding their global reach through Solace and Surrender. They have headlined festivals including Lollapalooza and Field Day and sold out stadiums in Los Angeles. In 2022 they won their first Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Recording for Alive, and their continued recognition places them at the forefront of international electronic music.
