After a successful 2012, the ARIA Awards are set to take place on Sunday December 1st at a new venue, Sydney’s The Star.

2013 has been a bumper year for Australian music where we saw a total of 10 number one albums; a number not reached since 2004. Amongst the artists that made it to the top this year included Nick Cave and the Badseeds (with their first ever number one album), Bliss n Eso, Bernard Fanning and electro-wunderkind Flume.

This year’s event will see the essential live performances and iconic collaborations, as well as a very special Hall of Fame inductee.

This year will also see a return of the much loved ARIA Week that will feature a number of showcases, conferences, curated gigs and an ARIA Masterclass. Details of the event as well as a full schedule will become available in the coming weeks.

Voting for the publicly voted awards for ‘Song Of The Year’, ‘Best Australian Live Act’, ‘Best International Artist’ and ‘Best Video, will be open from Tuesday, the 15th of October.

Nominations for the 27th Annual ARIA Awards will also be held on October 15th at the Art Gallery of NSW.

The ARIA Awards will air on Go! on December 1st.
