The AC/DC Speculation Widens With Angus Young Spotting In Vancouver

The speculation of a new AC/DC album have strengthened with Angus Young spotted at the Warehouse Studios in Vancouver.

Earlier this week, guitarist Stevie Young and drummer Phil Rudd were photographed at Warehouse Studios. A day later Brian Johnson was seen and now Angus Young is confirmed as there as well.

At this stage the bass player is unknown. Longtime member Cliff Williams retired after the last tour.

For the fans, the inclusion of Johnson and Rudd is most welcome. Brian was terminated during the Rock or Bust tour and replaced with Axl Rose. Rudd was fired after his drug issues caused him legal problems in New Zealand.

Johnson, Rudd, Young and Young will at least bring 4/5’s of the band back together for the next album. Rudd did play on the Rock or Bust album, he just missed the tour.

It wouldn’t hurt Angus to give Mark Evans a call. The Sydney based bass player has just toured Europe as a member of Rose Tattoo. If you look at any AC/DC setlist, you can see he already knows most of the songs.

There really is a riot going on right now, so what a poignant moment it seems to be to lose a hero I never met, yet a man I often imagined as my soul brother. I worked with many of his alumni (including the man who helped invent him, fellow San Fran disk jockey Tom Donahue), and to say they and he inspired me would be a useless understatement.
