The Stranglers will return to Australia for a 2018 tour.

The Stranglers founder and bass player Jean-Jacques Burnel heads up the band as the only original touring member. Original drummer 78-year old Jet Black is still a member of the band but no longer tours. On tour Jim MacAulay fills in the drum slot.

The Stranglers formed in 1974 and became pioneers of British punk.

The first hit song for the band was the thumping bass-driven track ‘Peaches’ in 1977.

In the 80s the band took on a more sombre style and grabbed a massive global hit with ‘Golden Brown’.

That started a run of chart hits like ‘’Skin Deep’ and ‘Always The Sun’.

February 6: The Forum, Melbourne VIC
February 7: The Tivoli, Brisbane QLD
