Timothy B. Schmit will release his new solo album ‘Leap Of Faith’ later this week. Check out his new song ‘Red Dirt Road’.

‘Leap of Faith’ is Timothy’s sixth solo album and first since ‘Expando’ in 2009. While ‘Expando’ had its fair share of celebrity friends like Graham Nash, Kid Rock and The Blind Boys of Alabama, ‘Leap Of Faith’ brings in guests Van Dyke Parks and John McFee of the Doobie Brothers.

“Like the rest of my new solo album Leap of Faith, ‘Red Dirt Road’ was recorded in my L.A. studio featuring Van Dyke Parks on accordion, John McFee (from The Doobie Brothers) on fiddle, and harmonies by Herb Pedersen,” explains TIMOTHY re the first single.

“Upon hearing this song one might think the setting is from the deep south, but actually the image comes from the island of Kauai. It’s a tune about finally being able to let go.”

Timothy B. Schmit was a member of Poco between 1969 and 1977.

Timothy left Poco to join Eagles in 1977 after the recording of ‘Hotel California’ so appeared first on the next album ‘The Long Run’. After the break-up of Eagles, Timothy rejoined when Hell froze over in 1994.

On Eagles 2007 album ‘Long Road Out Of Eden’ Timothy sang lead vocal on ‘I Don’t Want To Hear Anymore’ and ‘Do Something’.

Timothy B Schmit is one of LA’s most sort after session musicians. His voice is heard on Bob Seger ‘Fire Lake’, Boz Scaggs ‘Look What You’ve Done To Me’, Graham Nash ‘Southern Cross’ and Don Henley ‘Dirty Laundry’.
