Vance Joy Sets Next UK Single

Vance Joy has announced details of the lead single to be taken from his forthcoming debut album Dream Your Life Away.

‘First Time’ is set for release on 14 September alongside the album. Following its first play on Fearne Cotton’s show, Vance Joy premiered the official video for ‘First Time’ on Clash Music. You can watch the video here.

‘Dream Your Life Away’ was recorded in the US with renowned producer Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, Foo Fighters, Gossip), and features 13 tracks, including 11 brand new plus beloved hits ‘Riptide’ and ‘From Afar’. To celebrate the release of the album, Vance Joy will begin a sold out headline tour on September 21 in Belfast with shows in Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol and Brighton before finishing up with two consecutive nights at Shepherds Bush Empire, London on October 2 & 3 (a second London show was added due to huge demand ‘ tickets on sale now).

The past 18 months for Vance Joy read like a dream. In addition to a plethora of local achievements, including being dubbed Fearne Cotton’s song of 2013, and a Top 10 UK single, whilst back home in Australia being crowned #1 in Triple J’s Hottest 100 and most recently winning the prestigious Apra Song of the Year for, things continue to heat up for the musician overseas. Riptide is being streamed in excess of a million times worldwide each week, has hit the top 100 of the US Hottest 100 Billboard charts (TW #89), and has clocked up over 1 million sales worldwide: already certified platinum in Sweden; gold in Austria, Germany, Ireland and New Zealand; and silver in the UK.

As well as all this Vance Joy has been touring relentlessly, selling out shows all over the world and making stops at various festivals, including a fantastic set at Glastonbury Festival (where he was dubbed one of five ‘Best Bands To See’ by The Independent) ‘ you can watch his performance of Riptide for the BBC at Glastonbury, here
