Billy Steinberg, the American songwriter whose words defined some of the most enduring pop hits of the past four decades including Divinyls’ I Touch Myself, has died aged 75.

American guitarist and producer Rick Derringer has died at the age of 77.

I still remember the CBS guy delivering Cyndi Lauper’s debut album ‘She’s So Unusual’ to EON-FM, the radio station I was working at in 1983. ‘She’s So Unusual’ was released on 14 October 1983, the same day as Lionel Richie’s ‘Can’t Slow Down’ and The Jam’s greatest hits album ‘Snap!’. It came out in the same week as Culture Club’s ‘Color By Numbers’. Those were the days when something important was happening every week with new music.

Cyndi Lauper has announced the final leg of her extensive year-long Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour, with 25 North American tour dates for this summer. The cross-continent tour of outdoor amphitheaters and performing arts centers will begin July 15 and includes two nights at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on August 29 and 30, as well as Jones Beach in Wantagh, NY on July 19.

Cyndi Lauper will return to Australia in 2025 for a final tour.

The annual Legends in Concert show from Las Vegas will make its annual pilgrimage to Palms at Crown again in January 2025.
