Baby Animals new single, their cover of Motorhead’s ‘Ace of Spades’, had its volume turned up to 11 when Chris Cheney of The Living End joined the band to perform the song as the last one of the Red Hot Summer set in Bendigo on Saturday.

Baby Animals have recruited Chris Cheney of The Living End for a ball-tearing version of Motörhead’s metal classic ‘Ace of Spades’.

The Living End constantly amaze me. Every show I have ever seen by this band is switched to 11. They are one of Australia’s last great rock bands.

What started as a last moment rushed together event at the end of 2023 has become an incredible tribute to Jimmy Barnes, and we have his daughter Mahalia to thank for it.

Jimmy Barnes is home and doing well recovering from his recent heart operation of in the interim Jimmy’s daughter Mahalia has taken over the family business, the band, for Red Hot Summer.

Supergroup The Barnestormers, featuring Jimmy Barnes, Chris Cheney, Jools Holland and Slim Jim Phantom and produced by Kevin Shirley, premiere their second track, Johnny O’Keefe’s classic ‘Real Wild Child’.

Tommy Emmanuel, Don Walker and Bluesfest favourites Melbourne Ska Orchestra are part of a 65 artist line-up announced for Blues on Broadbeach 2023.
