Tuomas Holopainen formed Nightwish in Kitee, Finland back in 1996.

It wasn’t until ‘Once’ is 2004 when Nightwish started to sell serious amounts of music. ‘Once’ was the band’s first million selling album.

‘Wish I Had An Angel’ in 2004 took the band to a new audience when it was featured on three movie soundtracks.

Nightwish is officially third best selling musical act from Finland and has now sold over 7 million records worldwide.

Maria Kizirian is a Finnish producer, composer and singer who recorded for EMI Music in Finland. She spoke with Tuomas Holopainen in Hollywood for Noise11.com
