Dave Leslie of Baby Animals Noise11 interview

Baby Animals

by Noise11.com

When Baby Animals surfaced in the early 90s there were an instant hit with those two songs ‘Early Warning’ and ‘Rush You’.

The band was an interesting combination of rock and pop. Singer Suze DeMarchie had released three pop singles in the late 80s before co-founding this pub rock band. Producer Mile Chapman was behind hits for Suzi Quatro, Smokie and Racey but guitarist Dave Leslie says Mike’s work with The Sweet and The Knack is what attracted him to this band.

Baby Animals are out across Australia on a couple of Red Hot Summers, first with Icehouse then with ZZ Top and George Thorogood. They are also playing Wanstock in Melbourne on a line-up with The Baby’s Mi-Sex and TMG.

Dave Leslie spoke with Noise11’s Paul Cashmere.
