The Doobies Brothers have released ‘Walk This Road’, their first album in 45 years with Michael McDonald and the first album ever with Michael McDonald, Tom Johnston, John McFee and Patrick Simmons on a complete album. McFee came to the band in 1979 playing on ‘One Step Closer’, the last album before the band went into a nearly decade long hiatus.
Tom Johnston joins Noise11 to talk about the new songs, the mix of the now three lead singers in Michael, Patrick and himself, and the different styles on songwriting. ‘Walk This Road’ was brought together by producer John Shanks, who also co-wrote the songs. We even touch on Tom’s only ever two solo albums at the start of the 80s.
