Over their last couple of albums, Mastodon have become the leaders of modern metal, capped off by this year’s The Hunter.

Now they bring their expansive metal odysseys to Australia on Soundwave as well as two sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney.

They’re bringing along French metal innovators Gojira and Norway’s punkish, blackish, rockish metal sensation Kvelertak.

All three hit Melbourne and Sydney, with tickets going on sale from The Hi-Fi, and from OzTix, Ticketek and MoshTix for the Billboard show, next Thursday 15 December.

Mastodon Sideshows 2012
Monday 27 February – Billboard, Melbourne
Thursday 1 March – The Hi Fi,  Sydney
