Renée returned to the Australian album charts at no. 22 last week with ‘Swing’, her very first big band record. ‘Swing’ was recorded with an 18 piece band and sees Renée performing standards plus a few of her own reinventions like ‘Fly Me To The Moon’ and ‘Say I Love You’.

The live show will be a tow hour performance with the 18 piece band including a 13 piece horn section. . “I am so proud of this album and can’t wait to perform to my fans live with my fabulous Big Band! To paraphrase Bette Davis, fasten your seat belts, you’re in for a bumpy… but beautiful ride!” says Renée.

‘Swing’ was released through Fanfare Records, also the home of Russell Morris ‘Sharkmouth’.

Dates for Renée Geyer’s ‘Swing Live’ shows are:

May 30, Melbourne, Hamer Hall
July 12, Perth, Concert Hall
July 14, Sydney, Opera House Concert Hall
July 20, Brisbane, QPAC Concert Hall

The Damned released the first ever UK punk single, “New Rose” off album Damned, Damned, Damned, in 1976, and were often overshadowed by their English punk counterparts. Now in their late sixties and still touring world-wide, featuring the original line up of Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Rat Scabies and Paul Gray, they are the ones having the last laugh and have left their old rivals for dead, in certain respects, quite literally!
