Sir Tom Jones To Return To The Voice

After unceremoniously being dismissed from his coaches chair on The Voice UK last season, Tom Jones will return for the show’s sixth season.

Jones had been a coach from the premier of the series in 2012 through season 4 but was replaced by Boy George for the fifth round. Tom went off to the producers of the show at the time, saying:

About The Voice UK: In good faith, as part of the team, I’d put the time in my schedule to be involved in Series 5, as I’ve done so for the last 4 years. I’ve supported the show and the BBC since the beginning. I was told yesterday, with no consultation or conversation of any kind, that I would not be returning. Having been through plenty of transformations throughout the years, I support and admire creative change. But being informed, as a matter of duty and respect, is an important part of creative relationships. This sub-standard behaviour from the executives is very disappointing. I will always admire the courage of the performers who participate in the show, as well as all the production staff who worked tirelessly to make a great family viewing experience for the audience at home. I wish the show well.

Somehow, ITV and Jones worked things out as his name was on the coaches roster when it was announced today along with Gavin Rossdale, Jennifer Hudson and will.i.am who is now the only person who has been a part of the show through all six seasons. Jones, Rossdale and Hudson replace Paloma Faith, Boy George and Ricky Wilson.

Jones posted:

So pleased to be back on The Voice UK !

Looking forward to working with the team, my friend Will and new coaching partners Jennifer and Gavin, it’s going to be great!

James Taylor Farewells Australia With Final Tour (Melbourne Review)

I could go to a James Taylor show just for the stories. The man is a part of music history and is still around to tell the tales of how it all began. Like, for instance, being the first artist signed to Apple Records. James “auditioned” for Apple with his song ‘Something In The Way She Moves’. "Paul went away and started the label and George went away and wrote the song”, he said.
