Epic Canadian rockers The Tea Party reunite for an Australian tour in July.

It’s no surprise that if The Tea Party were to reunite, they would choose Australia to tour following a visit to their home country of Canada in 2011. They toured here 12 times in their 15 years together.

Since their split in 2005, frontman Jeff Martin has based himself here with new projects Armada and 777. Bassist and keyboardist Stuart Chatwood composed video game soundtracks, working on the 10 million-selling Prince Of Persia. And drummer/percussionist Jeff Burrows continued to perform with Crash Karma and work on radio.

But now they’re back together to recreate the monolithic, spiritual rock of classic albums like The Edges Of Twilight and Transmission.

Martin says in a press release, “The seven years apart has done wonders for The Tea Party. With a renewed sense of purpose and vitality, the band is more powerful than ever with our collective eye firmly on the future.”

Tickets for the tour go on sale at 9am this Monday 30 April from Ticketek for Brisbane and Sydney, Tickermaster for Melbourne, Venuetix for Adelaide and OzTix for Perth.
