Canadian stoner rock goofballs Monster Truck present their second EP, with guest vocals from Alexisonfire’s George Pettit.

Oddly enough, we discovered Monster Truck in an email with the exact line: “Your new favourite band”. And they ain’t wrong.

The four Ontario musicians were diligently working on their “more serious bands”: rockers The Reason and the rootsy, punky Saint Alvia.

But when you’ve got a name (and a sound) like Monster Truck, why not give it a  shot.

That sound on their second half-length ‘The Brown EP’ is a rousing, groove-laden, classic rock rifferama, with a tasty edge of punk and smoke-haze psych.

It’s perfect for the leather vest and longhair crowd. For anyone who was ever a biker, or secretly wanted to be one.

They even roped in George Pettit, from Canadian post-hardcore legends Alexisonfire, to apply his ragged vocal chords to the song ‘Sworded Beest’.

The EP is available on iTunes now, but you can sample some of the head-banging magic of Monster Truck below.

For fans of: Zeppelin, Wolfmother, Fu Manchu, Deep Purple.
