AC/DC ‘Rock Or Bust’ could sell over 300,000 copies in its first week making it one of the fastest sellers of the year despite a forecast half of the last album first week sales.

‘Black Ice’ by AC/DC, released 5 years ago, sold 784,000 in week one and eventually 2.4 million in the USA.

Hits Daily Double has put out a list of eight albums that will debut in the fourth quarter and early next year that have the potential to sell over 200,000 copies in their first week. The biggest is the new set from Taylor Swift, out next week, that is predicted to sell between 800,000 and one million in week 1. So much for the “no new albums in 2014 going platinum” situation.

Three of the eight are new sets by veteran artists, led by AC/DC’s Rock or Bust which the site predicts will sell between 250,000 and 350,000 copies in the first seven days. That album is out December 2.

Also on the list is Garth Brooks’ Man Against Machine and the Foo Fighters’ Sonic Highways, both out November 10. The Brooks set is predicted to move between 225,000 and 275,000 copies its first week while the Foo Fighters show between 175,000 and 225,000. If ticket sales are any indication, Brooks could actually top those figures.

The rest of the list is filled out by One Direction (November 17; 500,000 to 600,000), Kendrick Lamar (TBA; 400,000 to 600,000), Kanye West (TBA; 250,000 to 300,000) and Lil Wayne (TBA; 400,000 to 600,000).
