AMP To Recreate AC/DC Flatbed Truck Moment In Melbourne

The 13th AMP Shortlist artists Sampa The Great, HTMLFlowers and Darcy Baylis will perform outside Arts Centre Melbourne on a back of a truck recreating the iconic AC/DC moment in the iconic ‘It’s A Long Way To The Top’ video from 1976.

The event is planned for 7 March ahead of the 13th AMP announcement in Melbourne on 9 March.

Rapper Sampa Tembo, aka Sampa The Great said, “I am very excited to perform some of Birds And The BEE9 at the AMP showcase in front of some amazing musicians. It’s always exciting to bring the record to life and share more about the project with everyone.”

Melbourne artist and musician HTMLflowers (Grant Gronewold) said, “I look forward to Sampa and Darcy Baylis making me look a talentless loser on the back of a truck.”

Singer/producer/songwriter Darcy Baylis said, “Overwhelmed with excitement to be performing at such an iconic location with some of my favourite Australian artists. Being shortlisted still feels like a dream. Hope you can join me in it.”

The AMP Shortlist Showcase is free from 6pm at the Forecourt of Arts Centre Melbourne on 7 March 2018.
