Anthony Albanese Proves Again He Is Parliament’s Finest Music Programmer

Anthony Albanese has once again proven he has the best music taste in Parliament.

Under his guise as mild mannered DJ Albo, the Federal Member of Grayndler took control of the decks at the Newtown Social Club in Sydney on Friday night and his music selection was superb.

The music tastes of Anthony Albanese drill straight to the soul of Australian indie pub rock. Bands like The Clouds, Smudge, Spiderbait, Radio Birdman and Falling Joys were at best played on radio on early Triple J in their day. The current J’s wouldn’t have the balls to go anywhere near this adventurous. Had Albo not became a politician he could have been Australia’s leading music programmer.

Albo also sent a cleverly programmed musical message to the current government opening his DJ set with the PJ Harvey and Thom York track ‘This Mess We’re In’ and following it up with Falling Joys ‘You’re A Mess’.

DJ Albo’s DJ set was a fundraiser for Reclink Australia, an organisation that helps the underprivileged through sport and art. Albo also attended the Sydney Reclink Community Cup today (Sunday, August 2, 2015).

Upcoming Community Cup matches will be held in Adelaide (16 August) and Perth (30 August).
