Actor/musician Axle Whitehead has withdrawn from the James Van Cooper tour citing health reasons for not travelling to Australia.

Melbourne born Whitehead now resides in Los Angeles. He has starred in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Shameless.

Whitehead contributed to James Van Cooper’s debut album and was to join him on the tour starting tonight in Sydney.

“Unfortunately, I have to announce I won’t be joining James Van Cooper for his national “Coming Home” tour due to recent back surgery,” Whitehead said in a statement. “Rehab has been a lot slower than expected and I’m not match fit to be on the road for 2 months. I’d like to apologise to fans and to James. Get along to his show, he’s got a brilliant band with him and a knock out record called “Coming Home”, available now. Have a blast Jimmy!!”
